Visual quotation in 3D

Post by Maestral »

Hello guys,

here is something I made recently. Basically, it`s visual quotation of Kubrick`s Odyssey, well just a part of the scene after the bone is set high and transformed into the spacecraft. Would like to know how does it look to you.

This looks great! The last 3D object was my favorite, but the mist around the Earth also looked fantastic. Really nicely done!

Has a good feel with a lot of nice detail. One thing (hope you don't mind) the space station at the end is rotating at the same pace that it's moving down to the left, which gives the impression that it's rolling slowly in that direction rather than floating in space. I don't know if I'm explaining what I mean well enough, but, for example, if the rotation were faster and the layer movement to the lower left slower then they would be out of synchronization and thus express no relationship, one to another, same as the other way around, if it rotated slower and moved off screen faster.

Really well done though

@ Little Yamori
Well spoted. Indeed, looks like rolling. Stars at the back are almost invisible and not helping much in creating a different feel.

Hey, only took a few years to get some feedback! :-P

Nice work, I especially like the "sunrise" sequence with the Space-word-ship picking up some color in the highlights.

What are the words?

Practice, practice, practice, my dear Watson

Words are the different inscriptions of Danube (greek, japanese, ukrainian as space-word-ships and german, english, romanian and hungarian on "station")
