How to select many shapes at once?

Post by sun »

Hello. I ve one vector layer with a lot of shapes. More than 10. Is there an easy way to select them all at once (to change color for ex)? The shift-click-thing takes boring long. Ctrl-alt doesnt work.

1. When creating shapes, you can select all with the points select or the create shape tool in lasso mode. Caveat: this will create one shape of all curves selected, sometimes very useful, sometimes not.
2. Existing shapes/fills can be only selected one by one. Editing their attributes is best done via styles. Read about styles in the manual.

I am not home atm but I think you hold down the shirt key while selecting all the shapes on at a time.
Sorry for bad animation

Maybe sbtamu said it all but, just to clarify, there is really no need to go clicking one by one, you can just hold the Shift key, press and hold your Left Mouse Button and go dragging over the shapes you want to select; they will go adding up as you hover them. Well that's the most effective way to deal with this kind of elements and multi-selections that I can think.

Oh i c  . To blind, too death :x . For one reason i didnt think of Holding the mouse button. It makes it all easier than clicking. Thank u for this tipp. One step further: Do u know a way to save many shapes as one group like i can do it with the select Points tool?

Nope :(, but I'm always claiming for that because I do think it would be an incredible addition, not only for shapes selection/managing but, for example, for new shape effects possibilities. Plus... at the same time it would pave the way towards other possible exciting possibilities (shapes ordering, boolean operations, etc...). Well, greetings.

PS: Oh, one last note just in case... Of course we have "Styles", which also can be super useful on managing/automation terms, but I assume you are referring to something else.
