Audio files and volume control

Post by woody173@live.co.uk »

Hi

I was wondering if anyone can help me with an issue i am having with audio files. Can I control the volume of my audio files in Anime or do I have to guess it in an external source. I just seem to be making them too loud and would like to turn them down a little on the fly in ANime Studio.

Many thanks

Open the audio layer proprieties (double click on the layer) and go to the "audio" tab. Change the "audio level" number (1 is 100%)

Is this the only controls. I will have to turn my original audio file right down in an external program as I have tried a minus number and it just mutes it.

Thanks anyway

Usually you do a final audio mix in a video editor, as it provides much finer control.

Volume is a value from 0-1. 1 is full volume, so half volume would be 0.5

As i am new to animation I have been animating to fit my audio file should i be doing it the other way round.
If so what would you say would be the best, easiest and cheapest way of editing the final animation with the audio

It's perfectly OK to animate following an audio track, as well as the other way round. Just don't do your final audio mix in AS if you have an extra video editor.

Professional workflow goes like this: do animation scene by scene and export as video files, do audio (recording, music, whatever), import everything into video editor to create final movie.
