front to high angle view

Post by Nicohk92 »

Here's a little challenge i'm having and can't find the solution. So while I'm working on something else, maybe some of you have the answer.

Image

I need to place that stupa on the rice field behind.

The stupa is a front view. The background is a slight high angle view (almost aerial).

Right now it doesn't look like the stupa belongs to the scene so I need to transform it somehow so it corresponds to the view point.

Rotate x layer won't do, bend tool either.

I need to have the base curved and the rest of the floors as well in fact. That alone could do the trick I think. But to that end, I need to add points perfectly centered at each of the many floors constituting the stupa.

With my talent for getting messy comes a tedious process, I wish there could be a way to go faster. Is there a way for example to just draw a vertical going through it at the center and which automatically weld to each lines it meets?

Thanks

Don't know if it's the best way, but I guess this would be my approach. I'd probably try setting the origin of the layer at the single point of your peak and then go down adding points to your crossing lines. You can then see/set x values to 0 so they are all centered. Then select all these new points to simultaneously drag down. Then adjust the curvature with all selected to your liking.

(Possibly enabling grid and snap to grid could help, or maybe make things worse. Probably worse if it wasn't created with grid on to standardize spacing. A lot of times I create my shapes with the grid on if they are meant to be symmetrical, )

I don't recall using the grid for this one.

I will try using the origin to be dead centered, not a bad idea. That's if I manage to control my origine precisely (you know how it tries to escape the mouse at times). If There are other ideas out there I'm all ears. Maybe a script I could use... Otherwise it's cool, won't t take that long anyway.

Thanks
