Make particles in a particle layer change direction
I'm trying to create an effect of water flowing over a waterfall and I was thinking the best way to do that would be to have a particle layer and make the particles change direction and move down when they reach the waterfall. How would I do that or is there a better way to create the waterfall effect?
Re: Make particles in a particle layer change direction
Easiest way would be to set up separate particle layers for flowing, falling, and spraying water, and blend them together with blurry masks.

Re: Make particles in a particle layer change direction
Thanks. What's a blurry mask?
Re: Make particles in a particle layer change direction
Any layer you use as mask can be blurred.

Re: Make particles in a particle layer change direction
I recently followed this tutorial to create a waterfall and it worked very well.

You can use a similar technique "control" the particles direction using follow path. I think I posted that in the forum some years ago, but I don't remember where.AmigaMan wrote:I recently followed this tutorial to create a waterfall and it worked very well.

Anyway, check this file:

The "particle" layer is following the "path" layer. If you animate the path, the particles follow that animation.
