Tracing image lost when switching tabs

When I switch to another project tab, then go back to the first project tab, the Tracing Image is gone and have to locate and attache it again. That can't be expected behaviour?

Thanks! I tried to report it, but until now the answer is:

"What you are seeking is not how that feature is used. If you want it to remain, your only option is to Import and set Opacity to use as a Tracing Image until you no longer need it."

Which I think is a curious reaction, I think you can agree. I wonder how that feature supposed to be used, then.
