Anime Studio Pro 9 crash

Post by trantornator »

Hi guys,

I'm working on a larger animation project and I've been rendering it out in chunks as I go along. I just tried to render out the latest chunk (frames 14763-16000) and everytime I do it the program crashes with a Visual C++ Runtime Library window saying:

Runtime Error!
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I somehow doubt it's the file size and I can preview everything without a problem.

I'm exporting out as uncompressed AVI and running on a Windows 8 machine.

if it is the size, any quick and easy way to divide a .anme file in half? Would hate to have to redo everything.

You might have a file size problem.
Standard AVI only supports up to 2 GB file size.
Use shorter export videos (file -> export animation: Start Frame, End Frame) and put them together in a video editor or use a lossless codec like Lagarith. Lagarith also supports openDML which is AVI that supports file sizes larger than 2 GB.

First try rendering sections of 300 to 500 frames then compile in video editor.

If that doesn't work:
Save your file as 'file name' frames 1 to 300, 'File name' frames 301 to 600, etc.

Then reopen each and kill off the animation in front and behind of the other frames by moving everything up to frame 1 an removing the end of each file. You want to have smaller AS files. This is a pain but the AS file is most likely hogging the memory in your computer. Try rendering the first 300 and see if I'm right before doing all the extra work.

Thanks guys. I ended up un- and reinstalling Anime Studio and it worked then.
