Thank you all. Here's the AS10.1 file if you want to check it:

Yes, the rig was good. There was some stuff I would make in another way, but that is more about taste and "artistic" opinion than about a better or worse rig. For example, I don't like to use angle constraints on bones. I prefer flexibility during the animation and decide by myself the limits on the animation. Breaking joints is part of the animation.
The reverse locking technique was rather an experiment and not useful in the real world. I was looking for a way to animate locked bones and found that back door. Fortunately, in version 10 we have Target bones, which covers and exceeds this limitation.

This walk has a difference with "normal" walks. The character stops some frames on each step. This helps to simulate the weight sensation, but presents a new difficulty: The character is not moving at constant speed. So you can't just move the character from one side to the other. You need to animate the each step by hand. The good new is AS 10 let you copy and paste relative keyframes. So you just animate the character moving to the right in the two first steps, and then just copy that keyframes relatively as many times as you want.
Ok, it's hard to explain... I hope this post makes sense :)

Thanks mate glad you like it. There was a problem with the points not bound to the top of the front leg. This should be sorted now.

This is a great looking robot!!! :D Thanks for making download available. I was just playing with it after downloading, I'm probably doing something goofy but seems the walk cycle is funny (no leg movement) but I can easily figure that out, the other actions seem fine and I'll keep playing with it. Thanks again a million and kudos to you for all your hard work.

A simple rigging set up to generate a walk cycle.
Currently I'm writing a small book 'Advance Anime Studio' This rig setup will be in it along with other things that are not in the manual.

I'm writing a small book, it will be more like a pamphlet that will be for sale. I'm going to use the money I make off it to off set the animation class that I'm taking at the School of Visual Arts in NYC.

I will be taking the 'Animation studio, putting it all together' class starting on September 20.

I hopping to have 'Advance Anime Studio' out by January. But I have posted here one way to setup this walk rig already.

The setup for the on Big Daddy here is much simpler.
