Yeah, this is a pretty good "shifter kart" (i dno not know this term either, i just know the term "go cart").
But 250 bucks is a hell of money. For this budget you can 3d-scan a go cart toy car.
There's a lot of free 3d models in almost every format, from howitzers, trucks, muscle cars and jeeps to the latest audi, bmw and mercedes series but to find a go kart is like to search a needle in a hay barn
Anyway i was on the seek for this new term "Shifter Kart" and i found absolutely NOTHING except the model you posted above.
Seems like you have to work on the free models to create your own go cart.
If you know (i guess you do) the famous GTA series, since the expasion to 3d there have been tons of custom models released:
This is a custom go cart for GTA3.

A F1-racer for GTA3.

A F1-racer pack for GTA3.
http://62.216.174.17/cgi-bin/topdl3/dow ... 0byanthrax

Iam not quite familiar with gta-modelling but i know the format of the models is *.DFF.
To view these files you can download the DFF-Viewer:
http://62.216.174.17/cgi-bin/topdl/down ... FFViewer01
To export them to 3dsmax you can download Kam's Scripts:
http://gtanet.com/kam/KAMS_Max.rar
And i found these 3dstudio max models, but they r no real go carts...
This is again a F1-racer but maybe you can edit it the way you want. available as *.3ds and *. max.

Hope anything helps.
BTW: For what purpose do you need this go cart model?
