OBJ file imports without material. How do I fix this?

Post by halfspeedhero »

How do I import an obj file I created in Bryce into Anime Studio? I get the object with no materials. I can open the obj in poser, save it as a poser file, and import into AS that way, but the material still doesn't show. Does anybody have any experience with this?

I've never used Bryce, but it appears to be a terrain generator. The program probably generates textures for its terrain using materials, which means that you'll need to bake the materials to texture maps and then pack the texture map within the OBJ.

If all else fails, you could try saving your project to an OBJ or maybe 3ds file and then import it into Blender. You can then unwrap the mesh UV and bake the texture map.
