A sky full of clouds for a roof

Post by JJPcartoni »

Hi All!

This is my last work with Anime Studio. I hope you'll give me your opinion despite the animation's language is italian.

If you don't want see all cartoon, I advice you to find the scenes with the little prince and Sylvester Stallone ;)

Dude -- this is a cartoon which is driven by language, and it's a language I don't understand. So for me, it comes off as a series of disconnected episodes with unfathomable punch lines. Some English-language subtitles would have been nice... Not a lot more to say; looked like humour? I'll never know...

^ Yet, you didn`t hesitated to share your lack of knowledge about other languages with us?
Is it or is it not OP`s message written in English? And in return, he get`s - what?!

Comedy welcomes exaggeration but you pushed it a bit too far with head shakes. It`s always the same up-down movement along with the pretty much same dynamics. How about adding some left-right? Imagine if you add leaning also ,) One other thing is - their bodies are to rigid for comedy. They almost didn`t changed the posture trough the whole video. At least some reactions with hands would be nice.

Perhaps you should speed it all up? (with "sharper" camera movements included)

Ha ha -- the irony is, I'm not sure what you mean... I was voicing an opinion; obviously, it's not an opinion you share, but I think your opinion about my opinion could come across with a little less spluttering rage and a little more ratiional criticism. English is the lingua franca of the internet -- that's just a fact, and it doesn't really matter what either of us think about that.

Someone wondering why he can make an English post but not add English subtitles. It is a fair assumption that if you are capable of one you are capable of the other, even if both are machine translations. It's not unreasonable, and I'm sure someone would be happy to give him pointers on how to add subtitles: http://bit.ly/tOLduV

Despite my question being rhetorical, we should boldly go off topic, as far as no man has gone before.

You seem to assume that someone that doesn't know Italian isn't bilingual.

I agree with you on all your points. Specially on the reactions with hands, but I've very problem to draw and animate the hands... :?

No, it's true, there are only two languages in the world: English and Italian. And if you don't know both... for shame!

I too was lost and couldn't continue watching. The opening was well done with the two characters in silhouette, but once the dialog came in, it was next to impossible to follow since it's so heavily dialog driven.

Now I'm going to go cry for not knowing the only other language that has ever existed... :(
