Hello,
I am trying to save an AI file from AI CC into ASP 10; I am saving file in a legacy format AI 8 to make it compatible, but then ASP 10 is giving me an error saying image has too many points and it ends up importing just the bottom half of AI character.
Help please!!!

Re: Importing AI file
I had the same problem importing titles set up in AI. ASP would complain about too many points in the text elements. In the end, I generated extra high res bitmaps from the AI files and imported those instead.
Sorry, I know that's not especially helpful if you absolutely need to bring the vector version of the art into ASP. ASP doesn't seem to be very efficient in how it converts vector data created in other programs. I wish it offered the user some options for simplifying the paths for conversion.

Re: Importing AI file
Alternatively you could try simplifying the offending paths in Illustrator first (Object-->Path-->Simplify), and then export again.
Re: Importing AI file
Good suggestion!
I tend to draw things very efficiently in AI but I didn't think about that for the typed text. In my case, I think converting the tites to bitmap was the right thing because there were so many files to import, but for logos and graphics generated by a source I have less control over, that should do the trick.
