Create a shower of spinning coins?

Post by xian »

Hello All,

I have a "thought bubble" sequence. My pirate is dreaming of some dubloons. The bubble is acting as a mask and inside is a Particle Layer for the showering of coins. Inside the Particle Layer is a Switch Layer with the coin in 4 states of rotation. The Switch Layer has a looped animation running, but when rendered, the coins do not spin. Moho seems to take them as individual elements and not as whole.

Does anyone have a thought on this?

I am very thankful for your input.

There may be other solutions but can't you render the coin sequence as a movie and mask that?

Well, what’s your idea to put (I presume the animated Vector-Coin-Layers) into a Switch-Layer and that one into the Particle-Layer ?
What do you want to Switch ?
Have you tried without the Switch-Layer yet ?
Maybe you could use a Group-Layer instead.

Cheers

Hmm, it works for me. Are you sure that you set up a cycle keyframe for the switch layer, and didn't just watch the animation run over and over again?

Can you post a link to your file (just the coin part)?

Thanks for the replies. I moved on to some other shots and just came back to this one tonight.

I screwed something up, but with a little diligence, it is working properly.
