Needing to change the scrub setting for the timeline!

Post by Blackhawk1 »

How do I go about changing the settings in AS10 so I can jog/scrub one frame at a time with the mouse wheel, like you could in AS8? As it is, the default setting makes it so I have to hold down the 'alt' key while using the mouse wheel to scrub back and forth frame by frame. How do I change it so I DON'T have to hold down the 'alt' key? Having to do it that way is VERY frustrating!

Hey folks, I'm still needing some help with this! Is this setting something that can be changed, or not?

I'm not sure why this was changed. The middle wheel is now used for scrolling up and down in the Timeline window when you have several rows of keyframes. So now you have to hold the Alt key to scrub left and right.

I'm sure the clever scripters on here can figure out how to change it. I started using the arrow keys after they changed it.

No scripting access to this. This was changed because there were several ways to scrub the timeline (mouse, arrows, etc.), but you could only grab the scroll handle to scroll up/down to see all of your channels.

Well, that SUCKS! They need to switch it back. I don't like to have to hold down a key while I'm setting keyframes every 3-6 keyframes in an entire animation.

I agree, I hate having to hold down the 'ALT' key to scrup through the timeline.
Sorry for bad animation

I would agree. They made that change before they added right-click to pan the timeline (scrolling in both directions). Since they added right-click panning, there's no real reason to keep the mouse wheel for scrolling.
