At about the 1 hour mark there is an example of using point colors to simulate lighting. Any chance you could let us know how that's done? It looked like you had points inside an object but I couldn't get that to work.

if you turn off auto stroke and fill, create the box and the points you'll want inside for lighting. Select them all and create a shape (even though they aren't connected they are now part of the same fill.

Fill the shape with black, and give the points independent colours.

Oh that is cool, you can get some masking like effects without a mask. Nice!
