Wonky Text

Post by jeff »

Really not sure whether this is a bug or not.
One problem I have only just noticed: text is not "drawn" accurately. This is particularly noticeable with smooth letters; create some capital "O"s and you should see the problem straight away. (I am on Win XP SP2). I am sure I have seen really clean and neat text in Moho previously. On checking, I find the fault has been present from at least version 5.1.1. Is it possible I have some setting that is affecting the text handling, or is this a bug?

Other than, I am absolutely delighted with the new version so far. I consider it a major step forward. Big thanks for making it a free upgrade.

This is a very similar issue to imported Illustrator files - Moho is going through an "approximation" step where it converts the curves into the format that Moho uses. This isn't anything new in version 5.3 - it's always been like that. Some fonts just convert better than others. Usually, by smoothing or peaking a few points, you can get the result to look much better.
