please help lasso problem

I want to select the whole leg when I bind points ...ive highlighted the top part of the leg in the layers but when I lasso the whole leg only the top part of the legs points are highlighted....in the tutorial for advanced rigging the chap is able to highlight both the lower and upper legs points please tell me what to do...im stuck!!

It's kind of hard to guess at how the artwork looks on your layer without seeing it but there are a couple of ways to select all the points.

"Control + A" is the shortcut to select all points on a layer.

Or you can grab a point with the "Select Points" tool and hit the Tab key. That will select all points that are connected to that shape

Or you can hold "Shift" as you are selecting points to ADD to the points you are selecting.

Hold "Shift + Alt" or just "Alt" to deselect points with the "Select Points" tool if you have accidentally selected too many

.... It's handy to know different ways of using the "Select Points" tool with the shortcuts when it comes to working with layers with several complex shapes.

if "control-a" doesn't work for you ... it's likely that you have the top and lower leg shapes on separate layers. You can't select points on multiple layers.
