bones should only effect one layer ...

Post by undo »

Hi there,
ive made a charakters face and the hair on a layer above.
Now i want the hair to react to the heads movement.
But the problem is, when the bones of the hair move, the face deforms too!
Ive manually selected the points that should be effected,
only points, that are in the hair layer,
but the face still moves with the bones.

what should i do?

It's hard to say exactly without seeing your file, but the points in the face layer are probably automatically bound as well. By default, all points you create are "flexi-bound" - that means that they move under the influence of all bones, depending on the strength and distance to each bone.

In your case, try selecting all the points in the face layer and using the Bone->Release Points menu command.

hmmm... did u make sure the control distance of the hair bones is correct?
There is a tool in the bones section that looks like a bone with an oval around it.
Press it, and green and red ovals will appear around your bones.
Choose a bone, and shrink the oval so it'll b around the zone you want only.
That's all, and that must b the prob!
Heh.. I'm 15 naw! =D
