According to their blog this is the last update with new features until 3.0 comes out. As usual

I really hope they find a way to compress the timeline. Giving every layer its own timeline track is going to make things impractical for long animations.

Krita 2.9 Animation Beta released! Animation looks fantastic. I'm so relieved that they're consolidating animations to layers. I'm going to wait for the official 3.0 release before trying this out, but it looks really promising.

I can't seem to find the Timeline/Animation panel in 2.9.9 on Windows. Has anyone tried it yet?

Currently running Krita Desktop 2.9.10 on Windows 10. Both the 64 and 32 bit version don't have those dockers... What are you using?

Their website is so unclear about all this... Turns out there's a separate 'Animation edition' https://krita.org/item/second-animation-beta/
