Separate a shape.

Mac MacBook Pro 15 in. OS X 10.9.5, Mid 2012 Animestudio Pro 11
I have a Frog I drew it is in one vector layer the body is one shape.
Now I would like to animate the lower mouth is there a way to separate the lower mouth shape for animation?

I would just draw the jaw shape on top of that and adjust the other part.

In AS you'll need to train yourself to not really draw, but construct characters from lots of shapes, like a puzzele. It looks like drawn, but is is constructed from separate shapes.

I realize this.(slowly learning).
I did achieve what I wanted by doing what you suggested.
I really appreciate your help.
I am just scraping the surface of Animestudio Pro 11 so I run into a lot of questions.
I do search the manual and the web as well as here. Before asking here for help. I hope all my questions do not annoy anyone.
