Fix the Image Bug

Post by NuWeb »

I know that it says on the:
http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1314
Instead, Moho saves a link to the image file(s) that you use
So i thought, hmm thats ok, ill just upload the image to the internet, then link to it from their.
So i did that, full permisions, 777, nothing blocking it.

But still the image dont work????

Is their a fix for this?

The file is a gif, Its on its own layer, unaltered
it rotates to the right down a little.
Thats all.

Nothing mager.

(also i used the "HEAD" of a harictor, removed the spikey hair, and remade the body. Is this allowed for my own flash animations? )

AFAIK doesn't Moho "like" GIF files (they don't show up in SWF export). Use PNG instead (24 bit RGB with alpha channel).

In that case, contact Lost Marble, describe your problem and ask him if you can send him the files. Perhaps there is something wrong with your Moho file settings.

Unfortunately the term "link" has many meanings. In this case, I'm fairly sure it means a saved file system path (as in "hard link" or "soft link"), not a web URL. As far as I know, Moho cannot use web-based files in the current version.

At frame 84, you have keyframes for very slight image layer 3D rotation, and a keyframe for some layer shearing that doesn't seem to do anything. I'm not sure about shearing, but 3D image rotation doesn't export to SWF (not supported by Flash).

Delete those 3 keyframes at frame 84 for the image layer, and the SWF export works okay with the bitmap logo (tested with .png logo file).

I agree, but I have tested a WebDAV connection with my ISP and that worked. Even better, you can move around your Moho file on your harddisk(s) and the image links stay connected.

So putting your image and movie files on a WebDAV server might be a solution for animation teams using Moho that are not at the same location (collaborating through a common WebDAV server). Needles to say, that such a setup saves time and money.

But a web-based solution would probably be much better.

This defenatly needs changeing.
Luckily im just useing this as a logo, so i am able to put the image in the folder.

IF the animation is to be placed on other websites other than my own, then they whould have to put the images in the folder as well.

Such as entertainments scripts, phparcades, gamescript.
All have their .swf files in the same directory. This means files with the same name (as in iamges) will conflict, and the items wont work properly.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rasheed, what is WebDav and what is the solution you are talking about? I dont fully understand.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, so i put the image, and the swf in the same folder. Link them up, and its great. On the Preview, and the Moho file the image is in the scene.

Now on the SWFm, it not on the frame, it has gone underneath?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT:Re-Filmed it and it works fine now :)

You could have done a Google Search on WebDAV, or looked it up in Wikipedia. Wikipedia states:
WebDAV is an IETF working group. The abbreviation stands for Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning. The term is also used to refer to the protocol (more accurately, the extension to the HTTP protocol) which the group defined.
In essence, this means that someone (or several people) are connected to a remote server, which acts as an external drive on their desktops. This means that everyone who has access to the central WebDAV server (which can be an ordinary Apache server) can share the same resources, instead of constantly exchanging files among eachother.

I have no further knowledge of the technology, nor have I ever tested if such a setup is useful in practice. However, I think it could be worth investigating.

The thing about having the files in the same directory applies only to the .moho file as you are working on it. Once you export, whether it's a QuickTime movie, JPEG sequence, SWF file, etc. the exported file is self-contained. You don't need to include the image(s) when you upload the SWF.
