Improved body turn rig demo with working limbs

Post by Syncs »

A quick demo of a full body turn rig I'm working on, its a little rough at the moment. The body turn differs from my previous video, in that I previously moved only the points to achieve the turn, now I use a combination of bone and point movement, allowing the limbs to still work. This is my first attempt at this still alot of work needed., but I now know the principle works

Pretty good so far. Not that long ago such a rig was so esoteric, but now body turn rigs are popping up all over the place. It really tells you how the ASP toolset has improved over the years.

Thanks, it wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be

Oh i see you drew your characters in different body positions and used masking....
though i am pretty sure there is limitations with this

Though I am confused on how this is possible

I wish one day you can show us how one day

Though I am gonna stick with switch layers, if only it was more smooth :/
Don't forget! No one is perfect!

Hi, no, no masking involved. It's just one body changing positions with the smart bone. I started with a straight facing body and used smartbones to rotate the bones into the new positions then adjusted points

I am working on a tutorial and will post as soon as it's ready, just having microphone issues.
I'll be creating a full complete rig with head turns, body turns and hand turns. It'll be on my channel soon
