font side back view

Post by crimsonmoon »

Hi,

I just downloaded a free trial of Moho in order to see if it has what I'm looking for. In the character wizard, you can create a character and then get views front, 3/4 front, side, 3/4 back, etc. My questions are:

1) Can I upload a character I created elsewhere, like in paint or photoshop? So a jpeg, or gif, png, etc.

2) If yes, can I then use the view thing and get front, 3/4 front, side, 3/4 back veiws of my uploaded characeter?

3) If no, if I were to buy a digital drawing tablet, would that allow me to import my character into Moho (or draw my character in Moho)?

4) If yes, can I then use the view thing and get front, 3/4 front, side, 3/4 back veiws, etc.?

So I guess my main question is, is that view thing available anywhere else other than the character wizard?

Thanks so much for your time! Sorry for being such a novice!!!!

1. Yes
2. No -- you would need a 3D file to do this automatically. What you are describing for 2 dimensions is a turnaround -- viewing a character as though it were on a turntable and you could turn it to any angle and draw it from that angle. You would have to do this. It takes a certain amount of skill, but it's not that hard, with practice.
3. You could draw in Moho using a tablet. Lots of people do.
4. No. You are confusing a set of views designed and drawn by someone else (for the character wizard) -- which provides you with a series of different viewpoints -- with software that is designed to do this automatically.

Take a look at Crazy Talk Animator by Reallusion; this has some features which may interest you, including automatic multiple views of characters.
You can't have everything. Where would you put it?

No problemo -- and don't worry about asking novice questions; we were all novices once.
