Manipulate objects question.

Hi all...

I have a question, I have a person, he was siting on a chair, and then he stands up and walks past the chair to the bed. my problem is with the chair's back when he walks now he walks behind the chair's back. is there a way to manipulate which item it can be visible while he walks xD idk if it makes sense lol. il post a screenshot.

but at the same time. i want it to stay in the front ( the chair back ) cuz when he sits on the chair the back is visible it overwrites his body. but i want it when he walks that his body to overwrite the chair xD

...or have a duplicate (reference?) of the chair back above the character, and hide it as soon as he stands up...
