fingers interfere with each other if i add bone strength.
Ive been trying and i font think you can. At least *I* can't.

Using moho 12.
if possible what are the correct steps?

Re: binding points WITHOUT using bone strength
Point binding ignores bone strength, just like layer binding.

Re: binding points WITHOUT using bone strength
then I'm doing something wrong.
my steps are
1. go to vector layer
2. select bone
3. click on bind points tool
4. lasso the points i wish to bind
5. either click "i" or space bar
it never seems to work and sometimes space bar begins playing the timeline
what am i missing?
thanks
-edg
PS Im sorry to be so ignorant. i just can't find any tutorials online that tell me any different...

Re: binding points WITHOUT using bone strength
Sure, just use the Point Binding tool.
This tool rigidly binds the selected points to the selected bone so the points will be unaffected by other bones, and it doesn't require any Bone strength at all. If the result too rigid, you can combine it with point animation driven by a Smart Bone Action.

Re: binding points WITHOUT using bone strength
"i" is the shortcut to select the bind points tool...so yeah, bad steps.
Be sure to read the tips in the tool status bar: "Select/deselect points (press <enter> to bind points, hold <shift> to modify current selection, <ctrl/cmd> to toggle lasso mode, <alt> to select a new bone)"
Whether you press enter or space to bind will depend in whether you have classic point editing enabled in the preferences...or just hit the Bind Points button in the tool options.

Re: binding points WITHOUT using bone strength
Point Binding can be a little tricky because there is a specific selection order and slightly different rules to follow that aren't consistent with some of the newer methods. Here are some tips:
Be sure to select the bone first, and then the points you wish to bind to it. If you select the points first and then select the bone, the points will be dropped from the selection. (That's annoying but you just have to get used to it.)
If you color code your bones, it becomes much easier to tell which points belong to which bones.
When the tool is used, points are displayed in 3 states: unbound (no hilight,) bound by a bone (highlighted,) bound by the selected bone (highlighted with the bone's color.)
To unbind points, you need to select no bones (Alt-Click the background) and then click Bind or press enter. Note that this will completely unbind the point. In other words, the points do not default to Flexi-binding method or anything, and will no longer be affected by bones. If you wish to use another binding method, you'll need to re-bind these points (with Flexi-bind Points, Points Binding, etc.).
