How to get shape to conform to path

I've no problem getting a shape to follow a path. What I'm interested in is having the shape change (or conform) with path as in this video.

I believe hold alt when you click on the path.

Yes, Alt-click on the path using the Follow Path tool. Additional tips:

1. The shape should be centered over its layer's origin before using Follow Path.
2. The shape's edges needs be segmented appropriately so it can conform to the path. For example, a rectangle with only four points is not going to bend--you need to segment it by adding more points along the sides.
3. To follow a path correctly, the shape should be oriented along the x-axis.
