I'm having the same problem.
I followed your directions carefully. I see the keyframes for the effect and delete them.
Then I do a sample rendering from several placed in the timeline. I'm still getting the effect changing over time.
Tried this 4 times. Keep deleting the keyframes. Keeps coming back!
