Unusual icon for bone layer?

One of my bone layers has a strange icon in the layers palette and I'm suspecting it is the cause of abnormal behavior:



Does anyone know what that is?

That means animated layer order is enabled for that group or bone layer.

If you don't want to use Animated Layer Order, you can disable it from the Layer Properties. This is a very useful feature but if you don't need it, you'll want to turn it off. (It's off by default.)
