Welcome to the Little Green Dog Explains thread in the Lost Marble forums! This is the place where we announce the latest tips & techniques videos from Little Green Dog.

Little Green Dog Explains is our series of instructional videos--with occasional appearances by friends of Little Green Dog! Our first videos focus on tips for using Moho and, in later releases, we'll be diving into other topics related to animation and visual FX production. Most of these videos are free and available on our Vimeo channel, and they will eventually appear on our website and YouTube channel too. (We're still finalizing format and distribution plan so you can think of the first batch videos in this series as 'works-in-progress'.)

MQC has been updated for Moho 13.5! Just download the file again and you will find a new folder in the zip archive called MQC135. Follow the installation instructions used for the previous versions. Note that MQC 13.5 does not add any new features, but it has been updated for compatibility with Moho 13.5. Also note that you cannot use MQC13 for Moho 13.5, you must update to MQC135.

Introducing MQC or Moho Quick Click, a floating button panel featuring many commonly used commands for Moho Pro 12 and 13.

I created MQC to make Moho quicker to use on my Wacom tablet but it works well on a regular desktop computer with a mouse and keyboard too. This video shows you how to install and use MQC.

03/06/23 - MQC Troubleshooting tips: If some of the buttons stop working correctly, first check that you have the proper Keyboard settings selected for your version of Moho. If you updated MQC, make sure you also copied over the current keyboard shortcuts file for your version of Moho. If MQC still misbehaves, check that Classic Point Editing Keyboard Shortcuts is NOT enabled in the Preferences > Tools window. (This latter one bit me today.)

05/22/22 - Not an update, just a troubleshooting tip: If you launch MQC and the panel doesn't appear, it might be floating off-screen. To fix this, first make sure MQC is closed (check the task bar and system tray icons.) Next, open the MQC folder in your Custom Content Folder and delete the file called mqcPos.ini. This is the temp file that holds the position of MQC between sessions. Now, when you launch MQC, it should appear in the center of the current display screen. When you quit MQC, it will save a new mqcPos.ini file with MQC's current screen position.

06/26/21 - MQC got a tiny update for Moho 13.5.1. Functionally, it's the same as the one for 13.5, and the only difference is that a Keyboard Shortcuts file is based on 13.5.1's defaults has been added, and the 13.5 Keyboard Shortcuts have been cleaned up. If you download MQC before this date, download it again to get the revised shortcut file, and copy it to the usual place. If you replaced Moho 13.5 with Moho 13.5.1, you only need the 13.5.1 version of the MQC shortcuts.

One little issue though - when I press the Prev Anim+ button my windows can't play the file it outputs - do I need a specific codec?

Hm..I don' t think it should. Does the normal Moho Preview Animation command work?

A few additional steps occur when you click the button (fit in window and a slight time delay before recording) but the main part simply triggers the same command.

Let me know if the regular Preview Animation command is working and I'll see if I can figure out what might be going on. Oh, and are you using version 12 or 13? Knowing that might help me target the issue.

Thanks Dennis, it seems to be working now I ran a 'preview animation' command, that worked, so i tried the button, and that also worked! It was clearly having a tantrum yesterday.

Hi.
Tried to install your MQC shortcuts but it won't work for some reason? Moho 12.2 installed.
Nice idea though.

I'm running 12.5 here but I think it should work with 12.2. I'm assuming you followed the video instructions but I know the steps are a little complicated. Was there any part that seemed confusing?

You did copy the MQC json file to your current Custom Contents folder, correct? If so, the MQC preset should be selectable from the Edit Keyboard Shortcuts window. Once you do that, the MQC window should work with Moho 12 (or 13, if you have that version installed.) If the buttons are not working as expected, check again to make sure the MQC preset is selected. If you use the default preset or another custom preset, MQC will certainly not work properly.

Or do you mean the MQC program is not running at all? I've used MQC 12 and 13 successfully on Windows 7 and 10.

Just curious but is there a reason you aren't updating Moho to 12.5 (build 22438)? For me, 12.5 was the most solid release of Moho Pro 12, and it's the version we still use at my workplace.

I'll search my notes for troubleshooting tips and post again later.

It's ok. I found the problem. Comodo antivirus was sandboxing MQC. I'll adjust and try again.
Re: Not updating. To be honest i just haven't bothered as 12.2 has been fantastically reliable but I will get to it now you mention it.

Re: 12.5, here's what's different from 12.2 according to the release note:

Moho 12.5:

- Character Wizard characters now have lipsync enabled with AI layers working correctly (Mantis ID 39307)

- Previously missing tutorial files were reintegrated (Mantis ID 39626).

- Timeline shortcut keys to Zoom In and Out are now enabled (Mantis ID 39631).

- Stroke Exposure used with round caps off no longer generates round caps artifacts (Mantis ID 37486).

- Duplicating a Particle Layer no longer crashes Moho (Mantis ID 39614).

- The permissions on the Shared Folder is now setup correctly.

- Thumbnail Handler zombiefied process corrected no longer blocks the Saved File.

- Moho no longer crashes when moving a duplicate particles layers in the Sequencer section of the timeline.

- A playing timeline no longer caries over when you create a new project while the timeline is playing in the current project.

- Various memory leaks have been resolved.

So, IMO, definitely worth updating.
