Bezier handles in pro 13

Post by woodstockbird99 »

Upgrading from am earlier version. In 12 there where buttons up top to show or hide bezier handles. In 13 they are not there anymore. Was this feature discontinued or am I looking in the wrong place?

Thanks,

WB

I think the Show Bezier and Fixed Bezier Handles buttons are only visible for Transform Points and Add Points. If you use Wes' handy mod, Show Bezier Handles also appears under Curvature.

Sorry, I can't check this in Moho 13 now because I removed it (until 13.5 arrives), but I don't think this is any different from how it is in Moho 12.4.

Thanks for the repossess, but still nothing. In V 12 which I skipped over there seems to had been buttons along the top with the transform points tool select to show or hide the bezier handles. I can see that in documentation and YouTube videos about Moho. That is not there on my end in 13. Likewise with the add point or curvature tools there is no interface to show them. Perhaps there is some way to universally disable them that is checked but I see nothing in prefs or any other tools that would indicate that. Any ideas? Thanks, WB

Not sure that makes sense unless maybe you're running in Debut mode? (Edit: I see Synthsin75 beat me to that idea. :))

Normally, the buttons should appear when the tool is selected. Can you post a screen cap of what you're seeing?

I may still have Moho 13 on my other computer. Will check that later.

Or maybe you have replacements of the LM tools installed?

No, just the default Moho 13, still in trial mode but I can't image that would make a difference as you just enable it with the serial number it would be the same app. Does anyone have a screen capture of the controls for the bezier handles in 13 where it is working on their end? I see the buttons for this bezier tech appeared in 12. I had 11 previously but in no longer works with the most current version of Catalina OS on my iMac. Not going up to big the new Big Sur OS as I have read many people saying it's not yet compatible. I also use Adobe Animate and while the auto lip sync feature there is a wonderful thing, the bone tech in general is far superior in Moho.

Just installed v13 (and promptly uninstalled) to check.

Add point tool:

Transform points tool:

Those do not show in Debut Demo Mode. You have to select Pro Demo Mode.

Or is this because the Smith-Micro server is shut down? If that's the case, you need to download the 'Final' installer so you can run it without the server dependency. The 'Final' installer is available here:

https://my.smithmicro.com/forum.html

Look under the Moho 12/Anime Studio tab for the ASP 11 download link. The 'Final' Installers are available for versions 10, 11, and 12.

BTW, since Moho 13.0 is a bit buggy (to say the least,) you might consider Lost Marble's offer to downgrade to Moho 12.5 for Mac until Moho 13.5 comes out. There's more info about this offer elsewhere in this forum, or get in touch with Victor about it.

Most users here will agree that Moho 12.4-5 is currently the most stable and usable version.

Thanks you so much to everyone for your kind effort in helping me resolve this, really amazing. I had reinstalled the demo of pro 13 twice and the button was still missing. It occurred to that the old version of 11 which no longer works was still on the computer, I deleted both, reinstalled just the demo of 13 and the button is now working. So a word to the wise to anyone going up from 11 to 13 I guess, completely delete 11 first. Curiously it seems more zippy now as well as if the old installation had effected performance in more ways than one.

That's really strange. The ASP 11 installation shouldn't have an impact on Moho 13, and the two versions should be able to co-exist on the same computer. Maybe they were sharing the same Content folder and there was a possible script conflict? Just a thought.

Anyway, glad to hear you got it worked out.

That said, I still recommend downgrading to Moho Pro 12.5 until they get the critical bugs in Moho 13.0 squashed.

Thanks again. When I'm done with all the tutorials I'll probably purchase the new version. Do they allow you to keep 12.5 and 13 on the same computer as part of the downgrade offer until 13.5 comes put? They two versions I had on at once didn't share a content folder and I agree it's very odd indeed. But hey it solved.

Something else worth commenting on for new users: The tutorial files seem like they haven't been updated much since V 11, and there are several things that don't work quite the way the are described but not a biggie. There are links throughout the tutorial PDF saying to click the link to see more about a topic but they are all broken and go to page that says the page is insecure and may be trying to steal your information so obviously I didn't click there. I wrote the company and told them and they replied it wasn't a site they keep up anymore. Wrote back just suggesting the take out the links on the PDF which would be simple, haven't heard back. I hate to think they might lose customers when someone does the demo, works thru the tutorials and finds the broken links. To be honest with you if I didn't already love the program and was seeing it for the first time I probably would have deleted it over that as it reflects poorly on the company.

Was "the company" Smith Micro? If so, don't hold your breath... However, this is worth bringing to the attention of the Lost Marble team..
