Is there any way to convert .anime files to .moho files without having Anime studio installed?

Do you have Moho (e.g. 12.5) [as distinct from Anime Studio - e.g. 9.5] installed?? -- If so, just open the .anme in 12.5 ...
but if you're looking for a program to read the .anme format and write the JSON format used in the .mohoproj -- sorry, I don't know of one.

Ahhh...It worked. I tried to open the same file a couple days ago and it wouldn't do it for some weird reason?

no worries -- a colleague of mine often likens a computer to a small child that "just needs to try again" when, for some wholly inexplicable reason, the simplest of tasks defeats it and leaves it in a sulk...
