I can't find my installed fonts in Moho
Really do you know why? Only a few fonts are showing.
For example I cant see this font: https://fontshub.pro/font/brother-1816-download But it works with other softwares.

I think this thread covers what progress we made on font problems: http://www.lostmarble.com/forum/viewtop ... 13&t=32791

Yes thank you so much but I guess this issue is still happening at least for me.

Re: I can't find my installed fonts in Moho
Very interesting. I use Moho both on my Windows 10 pc and M1 MacBook Pro. Fonts not showing on Windows version of Moho but Mac version looks ok. All fonts are showing on Mac.
Re: I can't find my installed fonts in Moho
Yeah, I just checked with Moho 13.5.1 and found several installed fonts that appear in other programs still don't appear in Moho. It's been this way for as long as I've been using Moho, and across many different computers and Windows versions. Currently, I'm testing this on a Lenovo P71 Xeon laptop with the latest Windows 10 update.
I'll look into this later in the week and see if I can find anything new that might help the devs figure this one out.
For now, if I need to use a font that doesn't appear in Moho, I convert my text to vectors in another program and import that to Moho. Not ideal, but it works.

Re: I can't find my installed fonts in Moho
As mentioned in the other thread -- All (or most) fonts do appear in 13.02 on Windows.
If I create a Moho 13.02 project with a 'missing' font, then load that project it into 13.5 it works/displays. But if I then try to edit the text or settings - it errors saying "The font Bladeda could not be found".

Re: I can't find my installed fonts in Moho
I know the previous developers were doing some font compatibility work during the 13.0 cycle. My guess is that since Moho 13.5's starting point was a rollback to 12.5's code, the 13.02 font work probably isn't included. So, maybe that makes some kind of sense?

Re: I can't find my installed fonts in Moho
I noticed this earlier when I first installed 13.5 and reported it. But for some reason, in the report conversation, they told me that non-English characters could be caused by folders or paths. But now I checked in 13.5.1, unfortunately the fonts are not visible again. But I can still see the fonts in Moho 13 now. I don't think the problem is with windows 10.

I successfully added that font and Moho 13.5.1 sees it. I'm on Windows 10 Home Version 20H2.onurdemirsoy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 5:37 pm Really do you know why? Only a few fonts are showing.

Right-clicking the .tff had "Install" and "Install for all users" options. The first way wasn't found by Moho, but the second way was.

I tried the font. Unfortunately it doesn't show up for me (Moho 13.5.1 - Windows 10 Home Single Language 20H2)

Re: I can't find my installed fonts in Moho
Did you right-click the .tff and select "Install for all users"? That seems to be the only reliable way to install for all users, so Moho can find them.

Yes, you're right, it worked as you said. Sorry, I didn't pay attention to your previous post.synthsin75 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 9:36 pmDid you right-click the .tff and select "Install for all users"? That seems to be the only reliable way to install for all users, so Moho can find them.

Re: I can't find my installed fonts in Moho
Whaaa..? Wes' suggestion actually worked for me. (Why am I so surprised?)
Here's what I did: I listed the 'trouble' fonts, which included the ones I mentioned in the other thread plus a handful of others. These were fonts that did not appear in the version of Moho I used at the time (probably 12.5,) and still did not appear in Moho 13.5.1 this morning.
Next, I opened my fonts folder (C:\Windows\Fonts) and copied those fonts to a 'backup' folder on the desktop. Then I selected the same fonts in the Fonts folder again and clicked the Delete button above the list. (Be sure to use this button or the right-click Delete command because this should also remove the fonts from the registry. If you, instead, just press the Delete key, I'm not sure the fonts get properly/completely uninstalled.)
Next, I re-installed the fonts from my 'backup' folder using Right-Click Install For All Users (not Install,) as suggested by Wes.
Finally, I closed Moho 13.5.1, relaunched it, and checked what I had in the Text tool...and what do you know...I see all the missing fonts now! This includes the homebrew 'Greenlaw' font I use in my comic strips.
Hmm...I guess I've always used the regular Install command and not the Install For All Users command. This must have been the case at work too.
Now I'm wondering about my font manager program. I haven't used it on this laptop in a while, but it's always worked fine with other programs. I'm curious to see if it works with Moho now. If it doesn't, I'm guessing it doesn't by default install/register the fonts for All Users, but maybe there's an option to do that.
This still doesn't explain why these fonts appear to other programs but not to Moho when the fonts are installed for the current user only.
I'll document everything I'm doing and send the info to Mike. I'm sure he'll know what to do with it.
Anyway, thanks for your help Wes!

Re: I can't find my installed fonts in Moho
If you check the properties of fonts installed with "Install for all users" and other methods, they actually report that they are installed to different paths, listed as "Object name" on the Security tab. "Install for all users" is listed as the Windows main fonts folder, while drag and drop, just "Install", etc. are listed as current user's AppData folder.

Re: I can't find my installed fonts in Moho
I did some tests using my font manager program FontExpert 2021. For this test, I used my personal 'Greenlaw' handwriting font since this was the most noticeably missing font (for me anyway.)
First, I removed the 'Greenlaw' fonts from the Fonts folder using the method described earlier.
Next, I launched FontExpert and created a new Group called Greenlaw and added the 'Greenlaw' fonts to the group. In FontExpert, groups are handy because they let me create project specific font sets that can be easily activated and deactivated as needed, minimizing the amount of system resources taken by fonts. FontExpert can do a lot more than that, but any decent font manager program should be able to do this much.
When I select a group, I have three installation options:
1. Install - the default install command
2. Activate Temporarily - removes the fonts when the computer is restarted
3. Install... - install with additional options
So, when I right-click on my Greenlaw group, and install the fonts using option 1 or 2, Moho ignores the fonts.
However, when I use option 3, Moho recognizes the fonts, but only when I check the options for Install For All Users and Copy Files To System. So, to use FontExpert with Moho, I need to be sure to always use option 3. (I'll have to check if I can make this the default setting.)
Here's some relevant information from the FontExpert manual:
The font can be installed permanently for All Users or for Current User. Installation of a font for All Users requires administrator privileges. By default, programs in Windows run under so called User Account Control (UAC) and at an attempt to install a font permanently FontExpert shows a system-defined window where the user must confirm an action requiring administrator privileges.
Installation for Current User is a new feature introduced in Windows 10 and it is supported by FontExpert. This type of font installation does not require administrator privileges, but some applications that use fonts extensively may not support this feature. In old applications that were developed before Windows 10 was released, some font-dependent functions (like creation of font packages from fonts used in a document) may not function properly with fonts that are installed for Current User.
I guess this means Moho may need to be updated to recognize the Current User feature. I'll let Mike know about this.
