It would be perfect if you could make complicated arms like masks.

Yeah, I try not to use curve deformations in a character rig except for something pretty straight forward and where I really need to animate the spline from both ends.

In most situations, I find using Sketch Bones is just easier and more direct to animate. After Sketch Bones came out, I rarely want to bother with curves for this kind of animation.

Yeah, for stuff like this, I prefer using Sketch Bones. Then you can just parent the hand bone or bind the hand group to the end bone. Easy peasy.

When animating Sketch Bones, I find it easiest to draw through every bone in the chain for each key pose...in other words, for each key pose you want a keyframe for each bone in the chain. This keeps it predictable to smoothly transition the whole 'curve' from one key pose to another, not to mention it's more obvious in the timeline how to retime the animation when you need to.

Additionally, now that we have Vitruvian Bones, it's easy to switch between a normal elbow jointed arm using IK and a curvey 'rubber hose' arm using Sketch Bones.

So weird...that 'stuck' UI problem I kept running into yesterday morning isn't happening anymore. I still don't know what caused the problem or how it went away. Not complaining about that but...it's just weird.

Anyway, you can probably safely ignore that part of this thread from yesterday. Everything else I wrote about this feature should be accurate.

A proper curve deformer in Moho is really high on my wishlist! Follow path is a neat trick, but it's finicky, which is understandable because it was designed for a different purpose. It definately shows the possibilities though.

You could do? I tried a few ways here and it didn't work.

edited: now I got it. I found it really interesting!
