Avatar Creation Trouble

Ok,

I'm just dense on this issue. For years I have been trying to get an avatar uploaded for my profile. A while back, Greenlaw was kind enough to help me out with my file but we couldn't get it done. This just seems to be a mystery I can't solve. So I open a blank photoshop file 80 x 80 pixels, lower the res for output, and I still can't get the final file down to the limit of 6 KiB. I'm always around 14KB for the final size with a very blurry image.

Any guidance on this would be much appreciated

Probably easiest if you can upload the fat file somewhere, then someone can attempt to slim it down to 6KB without breaking it.
