Deleting bones

I'm trying to delete some bones.
Can you delete a bone from a character?

SOLVED: I was trying to delete a bone in the tutorial which can't be done.
Select and delete works fine in my own doc.

Can't be deleted in the tutorial file? that would be strange. Keep in mind that bones can only be deleted on frame 0.
