Interchanging hands and heads, etc

Post by Hybrid »

Hi,

I'm new to Moho. Actually, I'm still playing with the Demo (on the verge of buying it).

I usually use another animation program to make cartoons but the whole 'bones' system in Moho seems like an excellent way to accomplsh lots of animation in a short amount of time.

Basically, I'd like to know if there is a way to interchange drawing elements - like hands and heads in an animation. I can't see how it's possible, at the moment, simply because once you've created a character with bones you can't detach the hands (or heads) and add new ones... or can you?

I thought you might be able to add new layers and maybe turn off the opacity at different points where you wanted to add things in... but again, not sure if this would work.

Does anyone have a step-by-step method I could use?

Thanks in advance.

Seems that you are looking for something like Switch Layers, although seems that it was primarily thought for lip sync works, lots of users use it for such a tasks (althought I think it's a not very funny way of work...) Well, anyhow you can go to Help --> Help... and then to the 5.1 and 5.2 Lip sync tutorials to see how it works and then apply the new knowledges to any part of your characters that/if you want... Heck yes! Use Switch layers to replace hands, mouth positions, whatever. A switch layer holds multiple layers, only one of which is visible at any time. Clever animators use switch layers to save head turns, pick up objects, or whatever.
Can a no-talent hack make cartoons with just clip art and a Mac? You bet!

Thanks guys,

Checked out the Tutorial and have already made some 'interchangeable stuff' to see if it works well... and it does!

Much appreciated,
