Layer depth between two rigged characters please help!

One more thing: If you want to delete the hidden layers to make it less cluttered...it might reduce some memory overhead too. But I don't imagine it makes a big difference and since the ref layer will probably be left closed most of the time, I'd leave them alone. It's up to you...just be sure to make an incremental copy before making drastic changes to any project file.
