Don't know how to make a style's shaded effect show in timeline

Post by u1traorange »

Hi! I'm new to Moho, and I love how I can animate a style's "shaded" effect, but I can't find a way to make it show on the timeline. I checked all the timeline channel buttons under the view menu and I couldn't find the keyframes anywhere but they were definitely being animated on screen.

You should see keyframes for "Shape Effects" - with an icon that looks like a little gradient box. Just ensure you have a shape selected when you manipulate the Shape effect/s. Or create the shape after.

I once had a color slowly change as my animation played, and I needed to stop that from happening. It took me a long time to figure out where the keyframes were hiding.

Thanks, but not quite what I'm looking for. The keyframe for the little gradient box does shows up when I change the shaded effect for any object, I know that, but nothing shows up if I change the shaded effect for a style. In my case, I have a style with 2 shaded effects named "mactera main", and when I manipulate the shaded effect there, it gets animated but I don't know how to make those keyframes show on the timeline.

Oh, you want to see the keyframes for "Shape Effect Transforms." I think.

Those keyframes appear when you adjust the gradient gizmo in the workspace on frame 1 and later.

For example. . .go to frame 1 and barely nudge the circle+line gradient gizmo for a selected shape. Instantly keyframes appear.
Then go to frame 24 and move the gizmo again, changing the gradient. You'll see new keyframes appear on frame 24. You can drag these keyframes on the timeline to adjust the timing.

This is the tricky part about effects in saved styles. In order to see/edit the effect, you have to make a new temporary shape, copy the saved style, and paste it to the shape as a regular style. Now you can edit it on the temporary shape, and when you're happy, copy its style back to the saved style.
