not wanting to be nitpicking 400th, but lm hasn´t been very much visible here since january-feb
You're not nitpicking. :D See Fazek's post above, LM replied to an email in the middle of April. I assume it was Moho-related.
400th thank you for taking the time to defend lm
I'm not doing it for thanks (but I appreciate the sentiment), I'm doing it because it's the right thing to do. I don't know where he is, or why he's staying away, but based on past performance he's not doing it out of contempt for his loyal customers - there'll be a good reason. It's a shame so many on this forum are quick to assume the worst.

400th - "...there'll be a good reason."

there´s always a good reason...everything happens because it was a good reason to somebody.

take your job you all have - imagine you not showing up to work tomorrow, not telling anyone where you are, where you went. just disappear for 2, 3, 4 months or more.
you don´t think that would cause problems? you bet it would.
-------------------------

this is supposed to be a business, not some whim hobby that lm is engaged in, correct???. :? what business is in business where the top management disappears?

people have invested lots and lots of time (and a bit of money) in moho on the hopes that soon its weaknesses (check out the other forum topic areas) would be corrected so that it could be more efficiently and better used for animation projects. if people and companies would have known that lm would just disappear without any warning (i think the trash spam on the forum and lack of communication by lm is an indication) i don´t think most would get involved in it.
it´s not so much the money its the time people have invested in it....hoping that this spline-based 2D animation program would evolve into what we all saw was its possible potential. moho is an unfinished product.

and as far as lm having a baby...well, my momma had all the babies in our family and my daddy missed only a day or two of work....he had to work to pay for all the pampers and baby stuff.... :P

and that lm is a one person only operation trying to develop software AND manage sales and customer problems for 1000s of customers? crazy. one person. not good business management at all. :| i would have a nervous breakdown trying to do all that.

i hope 4 the best...and i hope that lm sells or partners moho to a company that has the resources to maximize its potential. :D
right now lm is disappointing lots of people...er, customers with its silence.
and soon word will spread to other animation chat forums the rumor that lm has disappeared; don´t waste your time getting involved with moho.

sure lm may show up next week, next month, when ever...but does anyone want to risk that moho will decide on a whim to disappear again???
lack of credibility, dude. 8)
communication is the key to a succesful business. no communication and it doesn´t matter what "good reason" one has, no one will know it.

Yeah, I can wait for the next update, but this SPAM has gotta go. The forum is one of the best things about moho and this bullshit is ruining it.

OK, here I am. Sorry for the long absence.

It's true that I'm not visiting the forum regularly these days. There are lots of reasons for that, and I don't want to go into all of them. Ultimately, spending my time on the forum is unsustainable - financially, mentally, strategically. I definitely am responding to email, though. If I missed an email it may be a SPAM filtering issue, but I expect there are very few of those.

Now, as far as Moho goes. Moho is definitely not dead. In fact, I hope to be able to announce some big news soon. I've been working with a company (who will remain nameless for now) on an effort to push Moho beyond where it has been up until now. This company will be able to provide marketing, sales, support and development resources to Moho. In a few months, you should even be able to buy a boxed copy of Moho in a store. That's about all I can say for now, but Moho definitely has a future.

Congratulations!

This is just what I wanted to hear. Moho has great potential. I hope all this fuss didn't get you too annoyed. ;)

p.s. Hopefully this will help with college tuition in about 18 years. ;)

Yeah, that'd be nice, but one of the problems with Moho over the years is that, to pay the bills, I've had to take additional contracting jobs and on-and-off employment at other places.

That is a shame. I appreciate the low price... but it seems to me a tool this useful and powerful should at least pay the bills... I know the feeling though... always selling myself short and losing my shirt...

Dang! I should keep my mouth shut already! ;)

Yeah, but I'm a pompous jerk who's been proved right.

Welcome back LM.

Wow, I've been away from the boards for a long time. I just read this whole string and I feel like Rip van Winkle. My own feeling about Moho is, and has always been, it's the best piece of software in its price range I've ever seen.....and it will probably get a lot more realistic price (read more expensive) when the marketing guys get their hands on it. That's OK, it will allow the product to mature. Let's face it, we've had the use of a very fine beta product for a long time for a very cheap price. That's a lot better than some products that certain unnamed giant corps turn out...they put out betas for finished prices.

Sounds like good news for the most part...

Does this mean Moho's been bought out???
