How do I hide or solo selected objects ?

is there anyway to do it when working with complex shapes ?

Yes, simply select the shape or shapes you want to hide and then go to the menu Draw -> Hide selected Shape.
If you want to show all the shapes back, go to Draw -> Show All Shapes

You can do the same for Points (Draw -> Hide/Show) and for Bones (Bone -> Hide/Show)

Also, you can add your own shortcuts to any of these menus.

And to solo you can do the same but using invert selection before.
