speed curve in MOHO?
I am new to MOHO and come from AE. It seems MOHO doesn't have a speed curve, only a value curve. How do you best deal with objects that have more complex motions? How do you maintain the overall timing when you separate the XY and z dimensions?
Re: speed curve in MOHO?
I put the animation I want to control by velocity in a Smart Bone action. Then I can keyframe the speed of the animation using a single controller.
This is a useful technique for retiming animations. I've used this technique to vary the speed of a individual animals or vehicles in a group (i.e., walk cycles, flight cycles, etc.) Or to time pre-animated events to music.
Tip: make the base animation in the Smart Bone Action longer/slower than you think you need. This helps ensure the animation is smooth when you vary the speed with your Smart Bone.

Re: speed curve in MOHO?
Thank you so much, Greenlaw. Great tips! So the longer the action, the finer control you have over the speed? I guess this makes sense.
Re: speed curve in MOHO?
Yes, that's correct. When you retime an animation using a Smart Bone, Moho plays back the whole frames from the original animation and doesn't consider interpolating sub-frames. So in other words, if you slow the footage down and there are not enough frames to support the slower speed, the playback will strobe. Give it enough frames to start with and it should play smoothly when slowed down.
