looping background

Post by rogerbz »

Hi. I'd like to animate a background ( looping the background, so it seem the car is going ahead, though it is not moving), but don't know how to do it. I've seen someting like that long ago, but forgot the web link. Any help on doing so? After trying a simple cycling that appeared to be clumsy....

I'm assuming your background is on an image layer. You need either a long background or two layers of a background that "hooks up" at the ends. By "hooks up", I mean the right end seamless matches the left end so that if you put two copies side by side you wouldn't see a seam line.

For the long background, just pull it across behind the car. For the two copies, place them side by side and pull them both. Use numerical entry for the layer translation to make sure they match exactly. When the first one is offscreen and the second one fills the screen, you have to start the cycle over or jump the first one to the other side.

I tried the two background idea and that worked just as I wanted. Thank you very much!
