how do i add a glow effect like this?

iv been scratching my head on how to make a glow effect on moho im aiming for something very silmiar to this image any advice on how they do it?

you could add a shape layer behind the character then turn soft edges in the layers panel. to make it look even better. you could have the shape as a separate layer with blending modes enabled

Not an exact match but gives you the idea.

Multiple layers to help you see the shape breakdown.

face lines is Screen blend mode
flames is also Screen
mid glow is Overlay
others are Normal

The flames and mid glow all use Curve Profile

of course, there are many other ways to achieve the end result!

Lots of different ways to do this, however, they have one thing in common: you have the original layer, plus one or more FX layers over and under it. Usually I start with just duplicating the original, then layer blur it. Just play around a bit with blur and opacity settings and blend modes.
