Hello. I'm making a short animation and I am also learning Moho as I go.
I'm still in the planning stages so I'm designing different characters in Clip Studio Paint, then importing them in to Moho in separate projects and rigging them, then I have a bit of a play around with the animation.
My Question is, I have a simple rig of a sleigh in one project and a character that I want to ride the sleigh in a completely different project (I also want to add animals pulling the sleigh at some point). Is there a way that I can Import a rig from one project into another and then parent and animate them together whilst maintaining the rigs bone setups?
I Did try opening the sleigh project then importing the rider as a Moho Object, Then I placed the Rider into the sleigh group but when I tried to parent the Rider to the sleigh, it didn't seem to work.
Hope that makes sense and isn't too convoluted, as I said I'm still very new to the program so I'm still coming to terms with all the different aspects of the software and the best methods to achieve what I want. Also the reason I'm working on these characters in different projects is to keep things as simple as possible for now so I don't get too overwhelmed.
Thanks.

File>General Import...
Should work. I do this often. If you have any questions ask.
I believe most of us here use the same method of creating characters in different files and then importing them into one when we are ready to animate them
Don't click off, import by reference.
Clicking on Moho Object, Moho image, Image.., etc is not necessary. It will just make the process unnecessary hard.

Re: Importing a Moho rig into an existing project?
I've Tried both the General Import and the Moho Object Import and the character does appear but I'm not able to Parent the character to the Sleigh? Also when I use some of the characters smart bones for a head turn and hand grips in its original project they work fine but after I import it into the sleigh project they seem to play up a bit. The head turn still works but the character as a whole shrinks in size as I move the bone and one of the Grips causes the entire character to move and flash on and off while the other hand and eyebrow smartbones work fine. Perhaps the Issue goes further back, I'm not sure.

Re: Importing a Moho rig into an existing project?
I am not sure either on that part.
Let me start here:
Is the sleigh a bone file?
From what I know you can not attach bone files to different bone files. I am not on version 14 though.
As for the character files try moving the frame to frame 1 and trying your problematic smart bones.
I had one character who's head turned just fine in the original file at frame 0 but when I brought her over to my new file the head weirdly floated. I wanted to cry. But when I moved to frame 1 and tried it the head moved just like it did in the original file. It was only glitchy at frame zero.
If this doesn't work try going to your original character file. Move the characters bone layer to a different part of the screen and resize it. Try moving the bones and see if the glitch. If they do it is likely a problem were the layer was resized instead of the object in the parts making up the character.

Re: Importing a Moho rig into an existing project?
Cool, I will try those things and see if it changes anything.
Good thing with these programs is there are usually several different work arounds that you can try if your initial go at it doesn't work.
Coming from After Effects for most of my animation I have a certain way of doing things that works for me so it always takes a bit of time
to adapt to a new program. Would be cool if in a future release of Moho that you can Import and Parent two different bone rigs from two different Projects
into one rig. Obviously I know nothing about development and I'm not sure if a feature like this would be viable for many people though.
Thanks again.

The most I know is you can move a bone layer into another bone layer and parent the layer folder to a bone or something like that.
Re: Importing a Moho rig into an existing project?
You can use Eugene's Transform Rig Tool to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8OVuOKyLrs
Alternatively, you can use his Track Bone Tool to make the character position track the sleigh position without merging the rigs: https://youtu.be/r5LB2co8dzk?si=HPuKLdj8OB8kZP_r

Re: Importing a Moho rig into an existing project?
In the end I just imported each rig into After Effects and parented the Snowman to the Sleigh. I always knew I would be to do it this way
but since I'm learning Moho, I want to try and do as much as I can in that first. I just finished that particular shot so I'll try these new ways
in the next shot and see how I get on.
Thanks again!
