Is script safe to be installed?

Hi everyone, I wonder if all scripting that is on https://mohoscripts.com/ safe to use or we have to use them on our own risk?
I installed many scripts that help me in my animation work, but today, I realized that I should ask question here because I have no knowledge of coding at all.

Currently, the only way to become a publisher on mohoscripts.com is to ask me, as I'm the only person who can grant such access. And I only give access to people who are well known members of this forum's community. Later in the future I'm planning to implement a system when any registered user will be able to publish, but the script will only be visible and downloadable after an approval from an administrator. That also requires many other features to be implemented, like emails, comments, etc., so I cannot make any promises on when exactly it will be done.

But for now, to answer your original question - Yes, scripts from mohoscripting.com are safe. They all made by trusted forum members and don't contain any malicious code. And, as an additional security measure, you can view and inspect the code before you install it, even before you download it to your machine. Also, if you have any concerns or complaints, you can post them here on this forum and we'll react as quickly as we can.

I can't recall a case of a suspicious script here, let alone malicious.

For ages, scripts have been provided for free here and were either helpful, integrated into official Moho or inspired by new options provided by new editions of Moho.
From my POV, the whole thing about scripts here is as constructive and spotless as possible. So, I wonder - what made you spill your suspicion over it?

For some scripts, the scripters would tell us ahead about possible issues or simply ask for some testing to find out if there are any issues. Far as I can tell, most of us here would gladly take part in such testing and even contribute to fixing the raised issue/s. Would it not be fair if you told us about your issues so we could have a better understanding of your posting here?

You've expressly asked about mohoscripts.com, and I hope by now you have confidence in anything you'll find there.

I do need to point out that there are other sources of scripts. Over the years there have been many efforts to create a central repository of scripts and, before mohoscripts.com became the "go to" place for scripts, you will find scripts curated elsewhere: authors (myself included) managed their own resources on whatever file hosting platforms they found convenient for them, and some still do. That said, I have never heard of any script that has included malware of any kind since scripting was introduced around 20 years ago (I'm a relative youngster in this context -- only been around 13 years!).

This is a community - one of the nicest, most helpful, troll-free [trolls don't last long here] forums I've ever found. Established authors are most unlikely to want to tarnish their reputations here by creating and distributing malware. New authors are invariably welcomed into the community (I was a noob once!) and this forum (and all the content in mohoscripting.com) is there to support and encourage the innovation that they can bring.

By all means post an open question if there's ever a script that you'd like anyone in the scripting community to review.

Thank you very much. Recently I encountered my PC get slow down and my hard drive (D:/ drive) active time get to 100%. I just didn't remember what activity I hade done to my PC. During that time, I installed some scripts (don't remember clearly which scripts since I put all my scripts in one folder called "to be installed", but it's not so recent that I installed the scripts. Not only scripts, I also install some other software's, do some clean up very often too, plus I had a long rendering process to my latest animation projects that made my PC slow down and hard to work with (Feel like some malwares but I did try to scan for malwares using various antivirus, nothing found). so I did not remember which activities cause the problem, however later I found that my Hard Drive is about to be death. Now I changed my Hard Drive. The day I posted this question was when my Hard Drive was in the problem that made me suspicious. However, after all the help from the forum, I found the scripts are safe and so I now confidently believe in the scripts from official Moho scripts website. It's because of my about-to-death hard drive that caused the problem.
