Character wizard

Post by gdeadtoo »

I've created a character with a walk cycle in Character Wizard. Now that it's on the stage and on the timeline. When I create keyframes, it moves the character from point A to point B, but not with the walk cycle. Why isn't the walk cycle working?
I see it on the Actions Panel, and when I open it, and play it, I see the walk.

I don't use Character Wizard, but from your description, it sounds like you're supposed to use the Actions window to insert the included walk cycle at the frame where you need it.

To do this, go to the frame where you want the walk cycle to begin, select the Action you want to insert, and then use the Action window's buttons to insert the keyframes on the Mainline.

Don't double-click on the Action. That's for editing the animation in the Action timeline.

You may need to cycle the walking action on your own. You can do it either in Action Timeline of the walking action or the main timeline.
1- On the action timeline,
Go to Action panel > find "Walk/walking" action > double clicks on the action > (you have now enter the walk/walking action) go to the last keyframes > select the all the keyframes from top to bottom > Ctrl + 9 on your keyboard > you now cycle the action from the last to frame 2 back and forth.
2- On the main timeline,
Go to Action panel > find "Walk/walking" action > Select the action > Use "Insert Copy" button on top in the action panel > (You now have the keyframe of walking action in the main timeline) > select the all the keyframes of the walking keys from top to bottom > Ctrl + 9 on your keyboard > you now cycle the action from the last to frame 2 back and forth.
