Scaling Issues with Moho 14 and 4k Monitor

Post by Yosemite Sam »

Hi everyone. Just purchased a 4k monitor as my main monitor, since my 1080p one was crapping out. Was looking forward to it, but turns out it creates a lot of issues. I've figured out most of them (I think), but Moho is giving me one last issue I can't resolve.

I have my windows scaling at 200% (so I can actually see things). I tried the compatibility tab settings under properties for Moho, but that made things worse (unless I'm using the wrong combo).

It is picking a few tool cursors and making them WAY too big. The one that really bugs me is the one for the add point tool (other tools use this icon/cursor as well). Makes it tough to design when it's so freaking big.

I've included images. The first two show the tool cursors that are working fine. The next two show the problem. Sorry they are so big. It's maddening trying to share images on this forum. Please if anyone has any ideas I can try please let me know. Thanks!

Thanks, Greenlaw!

I'm pretty sure I've tried those settings and the main issue I had (which you can see even in your images) was blurry text and interface. But the dealbreaker issue was that the eyedropper tool wasn't working properly anymore.

If those cursor icons were .png images I would try resizing and replacing them, but I couldn't find them anywhere, just .pngs for scripts I use.

Also, setting scaling from 200% to 199% seemed to fix the issue in Moho. Unfortunately, Windows applies that to all monitors. So my 1080p monitor is way too big.

On Windows, those cursors are found in: C:\Program Files\Moho 14\Resources\Images

The ones shown are curs_crosshair.png and curs_hresize.png.
Looks like Moho might be using the @2x variants. If so, you might try removing the @2x variants and/or renaming the regular ones with the @2x naming.

Damn, that's some great info. I'm gonna try that. May I ask the purpose of having two versions?

Awesome! I guess the big cursors are for different screen resolutions, but I guess you found one that Moho doesn't adjust for correctly.
Glad that solved it.
