Hey!
This might be a stupid question (as always..), but is it possible to have different levels of transparancy in the mask? Like you can have in Photoshop? Where the different shades of grey is different levels of opacity.

Yes, that's possible. Use blur or halo in vector masks, or just draw something with different transparency in a bitmap program and use that image.
