Hey everyone-
I wanted to share an old project that has finally been released. It's a 15 minute kids cartoon about a young werewolf with anger issues, geared toward 7-10 year olds. Some of you may recognize the Gorgon character, as members of this board helped me troubleshoot some IK issues in the past- Thanks for that everyone! Anyway, it's not perfect, but I learned a lot, and I am still very proud of it!
About the process:
I started this series a few years ago, animating solely in Adobe After Effects. It was incredibly limiting, and time-consuming, and in researching solutions to these issues I decided to switch my whole workflow to Moho and it changed my work from that day forward. As far as the art goes, with the exception of a few backgrounds I subbed out, I did everything myself (Design, rigging, illustration, animation, etc.) Moho helped me step the quality and turnaround up big time.
As far as the animation goes, it is pretty much 95% Moho, with some small portions that were animated FBF in Procreate or OpenToonz, and also some parts made in After Effects and Blender. Compositing was done mostly in After Effects (some in Moho) and I edited everything in Premiere.
I learned a lot of tricks during this massive project that really helped my Moho workflow, and hopefully I can make some videos in the not so distant future to share some of those helpful findings.
Anyway, thanks for looking, and also thanks to the kind folks on the Moho boards who came through with assists!

"I JUST WANT TATER TOTS!"
This is great, lazerslab! I'm very impressed with the production values. Maintaining this level of quality for over 16 minutes is quite an accomplishment. The designs, animation, voice acting, music, and story are all engaging and so relatable.
I'm going to watch the pilot again more closely. Lately, I've been very interested in background art, and I like what you're doing with yours. I also want to study some of the clever tricks you're doing with the animation and scene setups.
I'm eagerly anticipating Lizzie's next episode. Keep up the great work!

Wow, really polished. Did not expect the musical numbers which were great! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Greenlaw- Whoa! Thanks so much for taking the time to check it out! I really appreciate that and of course all the nuggets of wisdom you shared while I put it all together! I think you and I are in the same boat - I think about backgrounds so much and they are not only hard but super time consuming! That was one area in this where I really wish I had dedicated a bit more time, but I will say that your kind words make me feel much better about the end result
I think backgrounds are criminally under appreciated and theres not a ton of info out there, but I have been studying Maurice Noble's "The Noble Approach"- best animation book aside of Richard Williams' indispensable masterpiece. I also read this awesome blog by Steve Lowtwait http://stevelowtwait.com/animation and studied the work of Ian Worrel. In more recent projects I have been enjoying putting that practical knowledge to use. I also used blender for the school scene and the moving van, which is probably worth a deep dive (I used some shader help from Lightning Boy Studios... definetely a huge resource!)
Neeters-Guy- Thanks so much for checking it out, and taking the time to share such kind words! It was a new experience for me, but def a fun one!
