Select points from selected shapes

I dunno if there's any downsides to this but i would like to have this behaviour in Moho:

- I select a shape or multiple shapes with the "Select Shapes" Tool
- I switch to the select/transform points tool
- All the points of the selected shapes are automatically selected

This is especially helpful in cases where you do frame by frame or the like and using tools like hayasidist's new "Select by Color" script or something and you want to quickly resculpt or transform parts of a drawing on the same layer.

Yeah, this would be useful to have natively.

In the meantime, try Rai's Shape Window.

First, enable Points Based Selection. When you select one or more shapes in the list, the points will now be selected. (Of course, to see the points selection, you should be in a mode that affects points, like Transform Ponts.) This probably isn't exactly what you're asking for, but the result is the same: Select multiple shapes and get a points selection.

The Point Based Selection options also work the other way: Select points, then enable Points Based Selection, and the shapes will be selected. (I believe this is the intended use of this option. My first suggestion is probably a happy accident.)

Tip: Rai's Shape Window is usually very stable, but I find that keeping Points Based Selection on full-time may eventually cause Moho to become unresponsive. When this happens, close the Shape Window, and Moho should become responsive again. At this point, quit and restart Moho to be safe.

I suggest enabling the Points Based Selection option only when needed and then disabling it immediately. Since I've been doing that, I no longer see the 'freezing' problem. (I haven't checked for this in a while, so maybe it's okay in the latest version of Moho. TBD.)

Apart from that, Rai's Shape Tool is fantastic! For me, it's made many tedious actions seem easy now.

I may be hallucinating but i THINK Moho updated this a bit in 14.3 already, if so, thanks very much

It behaves a bit unpredictably at the moment i.e. if i select a shape with the select shape tool, it selects the points of that shape when switching to the trasform points tool, if i select multiple shapes with shift and click, it only selects the first one, if i select multiple using the new lasso mode, it selects all of them, if i use the select all button, it selects no points.

Ideally, it would work just as you'd expect, any shape that's selected, also selects its points when switching to a point transformation tool.

Yes, I agree! This improvement might seem small, but it has big implications for Moho's ease of use.
